About Us

Merv and Candace (and their two boys – Michael and Mervin) live at Twin Brook Retreat in the stone house. 

2014 is a year forever etched in Merv’s heart. For it was during that year that he went through a radical transformation in his life. Merv grew up in a conservative community – hard work, go to church, dress right, talk right. These are all good things, yet something was missing. God opened Merv’s eyes to see that without the love of God in his life, all of his hard work, successful business, and church attendance was absolutely worthless. The Lord broke through and Merv was undone before a Holy God. As a result, radical changes came. Everything is now done for the Lord’s glory. With this new conviction, Merv sensed the Lord’s direction to use the blessings God gave him to help others come closer to Christ. Merv’s heart is to create an environment where people can glorify God and experience the richness and fullness of His presence. This is why Twinbrook Retreat exists.

Merv and Candace Married on April 13th 2019, Candace is a great addition to Twin Brook Retreat and enjoys her part in coordinating the events and is excited about the vision God is showing for Twin Brook Retreat, Candace grew up in Ephrata, Pa in close knit family of 11 children, She enjoys teaching & playing music.
